Kelsey was a ballet, modern and jazz dancer for 15 years and loved the physical and mental outlet that dance provided for her. While in college, she took some time off from dance and searched for other ways to remain physically active, but she found herself completely unfulfilled until a friend from graduate school dragged her to a vinyasa yoga class in 2012.
Kelsey never thought that she would find that same release that she got from dance until she left this yoga class. From then on, she was hooked and has been practicing ever since.
Kelsey teaches English at Perrysburg High School and has been teaching vinyasa yoga since 2015. She received her 200-hr RYT certification from Yoga Works Back Bay in Boston.
Her yoga practice has positively informed her role as a high school teacher and vice versa, as she’s learned the true value of mindfulness and self-care. Her classes are a fluid and playful vinyasa style that balance strength and mobility. Her ultimate hope for students is that the asana practice of yoga will help to facilitate a clearer mind and a more open spirit.
